Abstract
Background and Objectives: Most tinnitus patients are related to hearing loss, but some tinnitus patients have normal hearing thresholds in pure tone audiometry.

Subjects and Methods: With ultra high frequency audiometer, Beltone 2000, we examined 23 unilateral tinnitus patients
with bilateral normal hearing. And ultra high frequency in tinnitus ear was compared with contralateral ear. We also compared ultra high frequency in normal ear with normal same age group.

Results: Ultra high frequency threshold was higher in diseased ears than that of contralateral ears. Positive predictive value was 87.0% in 10-12 KHz and 78.3% in 13-15 KHz.

Conclusions: The tinnitus over the age of 30 have increased high frequency thresholds than the normal hearing with same age. There were ultra high frequency hearing loss compared to normal side in tinnitus with normal hearing thresholds in pure-tone audiometry.
